About Us: University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust is committed to delivering exceptional healthcare services. Our Bristol Royal Hospital for Children (BRHC) serves as the Paediatric Major Trauma Centre for the Severn and Peninsula regions, handling complex referrals from across the South West of England.
Role Overview: This position presents a unique opportunity to lead rehabilitation efforts within the major trauma coordination team, playing a pivotal role in shaping rehabilitation services for paediatric patients at BRHC. The focus is on fostering a holistic, patient-centered approach to rehabilitation, ultimately enhancing long-term outcomes within the major trauma pathway.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take a leadership role in managing patients within the major trauma service, collaborating with specialist multidisciplinary teams and the Lead Consultant for Major Trauma Rehabilitation. This role encompasses the entire rehabilitation pathway, from acute admission to discharge planning, functioning as an autonomous practitioner.
- Contribute to the development of rehabilitation and major trauma services by creating guidelines and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
- Analyze and interpret dashboards, key performance indicators, and data collection tools in collaboration with Clinical Leads for Major Trauma, Major Trauma Nurse Coordinators, and relevant multidisciplinary teams.
- Maintain connections and benchmark practices with other major trauma centers, ensuring collaboration with adult major trauma centers in the Severn and Peninsula regions.
- Ensure that the Clinical Lead for Major Trauma, Network Manager, and Consultant for Major Trauma Rehabilitation are informed of any service-related issues and updates in national major trauma rehabilitation practices.
This role is designed for Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) with extensive clinical experience in major trauma rehabilitation, encompassing patient pathways, data management, and guideline formulation.
