About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Area Engineering Manager to join our team at our flagship site in Corby. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading a team of shift engineers and overseeing the maintenance and engineering activities within the business unit. Your primary focus will be to deliver operating excellence and ensure the effective maintenance of our manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership to the engineering team, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Develop the skills, knowledge, and attitudes of the engineering team, enabling them to provide an effective breakdown service as members of an integrated manufacturing team.
- Ensure that all operational maintenance, engineering, and project-related health and safety requirements are clearly communicated and diligently applied.
- Manage the business unit maintenance budget to ensure control of expenditure within agreed limits.
- Ensure adherence to current engineering standards (PUWER, LOLA, IEE Standards).
Requirements
- Experience managing an engineering team within a manufacturing environment (preferably food or FMCG).
- Demonstrable experience in leading and developing a team.
- Apprentice-trained or recognized engineering qualification.
- Experience of managing maintenance budgets and working within a management role previously.
