This is a permanent position.
Role Overview:
The primary objective of this role is to support the implementation of a comprehensive national water quality service, ensuring that City Facilities Management adheres to its legal obligations while providing secure environments for staff, clients, and the public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a professional demeanor while representing the organization and foster positive relationships with colleagues across various locations.
- Participate in training sessions as required to keep skills updated with industry advancements.
- Collaborate with team members to uphold established quality standards consistently.
Technician Duties:
- Prioritize the health and safety of all individuals during job-related activities.
- Present a professional image to clients at all times.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Complete necessary documentation upon arrival at the site.
- Communicate with site management to explain the purpose of the visit and the tasks to be performed.
- Ensure all required paperwork is finalized before leaving the site.
- Conduct biannual reviews of facilities.
- Perform and document specific risk assessments related to water quality.
- Audit compliance documentation to ensure routine tasks are completed by the team.
- Inspect water storage systems.
- Collect samples from various water systems.
- Execute cleaning and disinfection of water storage systems, preferably outside of operational hours to minimize disruption.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is completed during site visits.
- Report any violations of water safety regulations.
- Document any required remedial actions through established company protocols.
- Close out tasks upon completion.
- Provide daily updates to management.
- Notify management in advance for the procurement of necessary supplies and equipment.
- Support night shift operations as needed.
- Ensure timely reporting of issues to management.
- Maintain regular communication with management.
- Utilize the helpdesk for job requests as necessary.
People Management:
- Willingness to travel nationally and regionally.
- Ability to stay overnight when required.
- Maintain physical fitness to perform job duties, including climbing and working in confined spaces.
- Present a neat appearance and maintain uniform standards.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Efficiently manage scheduled visits within agreed timelines.
- Flexibility to work across various shifts.
- Experience in tank inspections and water sampling.
- Knowledge of Legionella management and risk assessment.
- Experience in cleaning and disinfecting water systems.
- Proficient IT skills.
- Strong communication abilities.
