About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Social Worker to join our Children in Care team in Mid Essex. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support to children and young people up to the age of 18 who are in care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Visiting children and young people in placement to ensure their experience in care is positive and supportive.
  • Developing permanency plans, including Special Guardianship Orders and adoption, to provide stability and security for children and young people.
  • Providing life-story work to help children and young people understand their reasons for being in care.
  • Supporting children and young people to return home to their birth family, where possible.
Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in social work, CQSW, CSS, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with Social Work England as a registered Social Worker.
  • Ability to demonstrate capability in practice, following current professional standards such as the Professional Capability Framework (PCF) and Knowledge & Skills Statement (KSS).
  • Proficiency in using tools such as Word and social work case recording systems.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as required, to ensure children's needs are met at all times.
