Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at Veolia. As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our waste management facilities, ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete regular site visits to monitor operations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that all site staff are working in accordance with Veolia's health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and report on contractor performance and ensure that all necessary permits and permissions are in place.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all aspects of the business are aligned and working towards common goals.
  • Provide training and support to site staff to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Investigate and report on any incidents or accidents that occur on site.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within the waste management industry.
  • Knowledge of environmental and local authority legislation.
  • IOSH qualification.
  • IT proficiency.
  • COTC - NEBOSH qualifications desirable.
