London Road Surgery (Wickford) is seeking a dedicated and experienced GP to join our thriving practice in Wickford, Essex.

We are a well-established market town practice offering the full spectrum of family medicine while embracing modern advancements. Due to retirement and list expansion, we have an exciting opportunity for a GP to join us as either a partner or salaried practitioner.

About Our Practice
  • We serve a growing patient population of 13,800.
  • Our team consists of three partners and three salaried GPs, supported by an ANP team, nurses, a healthcare assistant, a paramedic, an advanced care practitioner, and a visit support coordinator.
  • We also have the benefit of a pharmacist, social prescriber, mental health professional, and a dedicated administrative team including secretaries, coders, data clerks, and repeat medication specialists.
  • Our comprehensive range of clinics includes asthma, diabetes, and IUCD management, along with minor surgery capabilities in our operating theatre.
  • We also offer a specialist travel clinic and encourage the development of diverse special interests within our team.
Our Premises and Location
  • Our practice is housed in a spacious, purpose-built leased facility located in the heart of Wickford town center with convenient parking.
  • Wickford is a vibrant market town situated on the main rail line to London (38 minutes), offering easy access to both the coast and Europe, as well as an airport just 20 minutes away.
  • The area boasts excellent housing options, including private and state grammar schools, along with a wide array of local clubs and societies catering to various interests such as sports, walking, sailing, and mountain biking.
Work-Life Balance
  • We offer 8 weeks of leave per year, including time for continuing professional development (CPD).
  • Our practice operates without out-of-hours or weekend commitments.
  • Full-time positions consist of 8 sessions, and we are flexible with full-time, part-time, and job share arrangements.
  • We provide a home visiting service and hold weekly clinical meetings and multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussions.
  • There are excellent local CPD opportunities available, and our practice maintains a high QOF score.
