About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Senior Engineer to join our team at Assystem, a leading international company specializing in engineering and project management services. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering mechanical work scope, production, and checking, reporting to a Principal Engineer/Mechanical Responsible Engineer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design team through all project phases, testing, and execution of parts required in the current phase.
  • Guide Mechanical Designers and Engineers in the production of detail drawings, sub-assemblies, GA, Layout drawings, Flow diagrams, and parts lists.
  • Produce calculations to verify detail design and design substantiation.
  • Compile technical files for machinery/UK CA compliance with associated documents (RA's, O&M manuals, etc).
Requirements
  • Experience of working within a highly regulated industry, preferably within the nuclear industry.
  • Recent experience of designing Alpha Gloveboxes and operating philosophies associated with providing a safe manual glovebox process.
  • Experience of 'Design for Assembly' within a nuclear facility.
  • A good understanding of the requirements associated with delivering mechanical designs in the nuclear sector.
  • Experience in machining and fabrication manufacturing processes.
  • Production and checking of Mechanical engineering calculations & deliverables.
Competencies
  • Competent report writing skills: clearly and concisely reporting findings.
