Job Title: Accounting Operations Lead

Culina Group is seeking an experienced Accounting Operations Lead to join our finance team as part of our Finance Excellence Transformation Programme.

Job Summary:

The Accounting Operations Lead will be responsible for delivering the efficient and effective operation of the Procure to Pay (P2P) process within a robust financial controls framework. This includes driving improvements into the delivery of P2P activities across all entities within the Culina Group.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Overall process ownership of the Culina Group Finance Procure To Pay (P2P) process.
  • Lead, implement and embed process changes via standardisation and automation solutions, regularly monitor performance measures and relevant data to benchmark against industry peers to articulate recommendations on people / process / systems.
  • Formulate the overall vision for operational Finance: identifying, recommending, and driving key improvement initiatives to the delivery process efficiencies and benefits as part of a short / medium- and long-term roadmap this includes transformation & continuous improvements.
  • Policies & Controls - Manage processes and transactions in compliance with Risk and Financial Control policies.
  • Transaction processing - Drive improvements in the accurate processing of Accounting Operations transactions and transaction corrections within the timescales set by SLAs and OLAs.
  • Ad hoc analyses & investigations - Manage the delivery of technical support to Finance and business stakeholders via standard and ad hoc analyses and investigations.
  • Development - Drive Finance change projects within P2P; whilst championing a culture of continuous improvement; and enhancing Finance and Business skills via an agreed and documented development plan.
  • Documentation - Responsible for ensuring that any standard operating procedures and process maps utilised to carry out Accounting Operations processes are accurate and up-to-date, whilst also responsible for ensuring that transactions, reconciliations and any supporting documentation are filed and can be recovered in accordance with Financial Control policy.
Requirements:
  • Ability to drive process improvement and deliver against SLAs and OLAs.
  • Excellent IT literacy and Excel knowledge.
  • Ideally a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or experienced accountant with 5 years industry experience.
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
  • Self-motivated and confident.
  • Experienced Team Manager.
  • Advanced stakeholder management skills, able to tailor approach to audience whether internal or external, including the external auditors.
  • Highly effective organisational skills, logical approach and attention to detail.
  • Proactive approach to self-development and team development.
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Self-motivated, resilient and able to demonstrate initiative.
  • SAP experience essential, it would be desirable if the occupant had experience of finance system transfer / development.
  • Must have a higher level knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Extensive experience of Finance AP systems.
  • Excellent understanding of AP and P2P processes and compliance.
