Job Responsibilities

What will your role entail?

As part of the editorial team, you will identify and narrate stories and videos that resonate with a broad audience, focusing on topics that matter to local communities. You will possess a comprehensive understanding of audience engagement and how it informs content strategy, utilizing social media platforms to create compelling posts.

You will oversee the effective distribution of newsletters, optimizing engagement rates and fostering community growth on platforms that align with our key performance indicators.

You will promote best practices among journalists regarding audience engagement: nurturing communities, participating in discussions, being accessible to readers, and leading innovative storytelling efforts across our digital platforms.

Candidate Profile

Who are we looking for?

We seek an accomplished journalist with an NCTJ or equivalent qualification and a solid understanding of media law. You should have a keen awareness of audience dynamics and how they influence content decisions. This senior position offers the opportunity to lead within the newsroom, innovate in storytelling, and inspire similar practices in your colleagues.

You will engage with breaking news that holds significant relevance for our audiences. We are looking for journalists who are inquisitive about their surroundings, eager to address the questions our readers have, and who actively listen to conversations to identify how they can contribute.
