Building Services Engineer Electrical Mechanical Plumbing Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Building Services Engineer to join our team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust. As a key member of our Estates department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and continuous operation of all engineering and building plant and equipment.
Main Responsibilities
- To ensure the safe and continuous operation of all engineering and building plant and equipment, in accordance with statutory requirements, codes of practice, guidance notes and Trust procedures.
- To be the department's point of contact for all out of hours incidents and breakdowns, carrying out first line assessment, fault finding, repair, substitute of service and/or safe isolation as required.
- To be the Trust's Fire Controlling Officer and undertake the duties of that role for the site as a whole during a fire event.
- To carry out line manager duties for contractors.
About Us
University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust operates from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, and Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe.
We provide a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. Our hospitals also provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Person Specification
- Full Electrical, Mechanical or Plumbing and Heating apprenticeship up to HNC/HND + Specialist knowledge in relevant area or equivalent degree level experience.
- The following NHS specific training will be provided and must be undertaken in the first 12 months of post.
- HTM 01 - Competent Person Decontamination
- HTM 02 - Authorised Person Medical Gas
- HTM 03 - Authorised Person/Competent Person Ventilation combined
- HTM 04 - Competent Person Water
- HTM 06 - Competent Person LV
- CP/AP Pressure Systems
- Boiler Operator Training
- Willingness to undertake further training.
