We are seeking a dedicated individual for a full-time role as a Landscape Maintenance Technician within our estates team.

This position involves a commitment of 40 hours per week with varying shifts.

As a Landscape Maintenance Technician, you will assist the Estate Manager along with the gardening and greenkeeping teams to uphold the highest standards of horticulture across the estate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the estate, gardens, and golf course in accordance with the Estate Manager's directives.
  • Familiarize yourself with the estate's history, including the architects and landscape designers who have influenced Luton Hoo.
  • Utilize and maintain all necessary personal protective equipment provided.
  • Engage in ongoing project work throughout the estate, encompassing both hard and soft landscaping.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety regulations pertaining to the estates.
  • Safeguard horticultural tools during work hours and securely store them after each shift.
  • Assist in turf management, hedge trimming, and the pruning/training of various ornamental trees, shrubs, and climbing plants.
  • Conduct general weed control, tidying, and planting of trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants.
  • Support the maintenance of ponds, fountains, and other water features in collaboration with the Estates Team.
  • Contribute to snow removal, timber processing, external building upkeep, and other related tasks.
  • Stay updated on meeting notes and policies shared by the Estates Manager.
  • Help prepare and maintain croquet and tennis courts for guest use during the spring and summer seasons.
  • Foster positive relationships with colleagues, resident staff, and the Southern Estate.
  • Participate in hedge trimming, strimming, and mowing activities across the gardens, golf course, and the wider estate.
