About the Job

We are seeking a skilled and experienced PSV Chargehand to join our Engineering team at Transport UK London Bus. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of buses to ensure they are safe and reliable for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and repair buses to ensure they meet safety and regulatory standards
  • Diagnose and investigate mechanical and electronic faults
  • Record and document repairs and maintenance activities
  • Liaise with the engineering team to optimize vehicle maintenance and minimize downtime
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives
Requirements:
  • NVQ level 2 qualification in maintenance and repair of public service vehicles or heavy goods vehicles (or equivalent international qualification)
  • OR at least five years' experience repairing and maintaining public service or heavy goods vehicles
  • IRTEC and SMT qualification from the awarding body
  • PCV licence
  • Good standard of maths and English
  • Ability to read and understand instructions and service manuals
  • Knowledge of fleet management technical computer systems
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
