About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Community Nursing team in Bedfordshire as a Nursing Associate. This is a substantive post for the Mid Beds Community Nursing Team.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly respected team that delivers responsive high-quality care to patients in their own homes. As a Nursing Associate, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to housebound residents who live with a wide range of complex health conditions.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care to patients in their own homes, working corporately within our Primary Care Team.
  • Support the Community Nurses and the wider MDT to deliver excellent and compassionate care.
  • Work with people on a curative and palliative pathways, demonstrating good customer care skills and experience of health coaching and promoting independent living.
  • Manage a caseload of patients, prioritizing work and working in a time-managed and effective way to meet patients' appointments and demands of the role.
  • Undertake frequent standing, kneeling, crouching, hoisting and other moving and handling procedures, and regularly move and handle clients that may require moderate physical effort.
Requirements
  • Essential qualifications: ONVQ III, GCSE Maths or equivalent, Diploma level relevant qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Essential experience: Demonstrates appropriate emotional self-regulation and maintains professional boundaries at all times, good experience of working with community health care teams, experience of working with people on a curative and palliative pathways, experience of working with people with physical health requirements, experience of managing caseload of patients, experience of working with people with learning difficulties and or mental health issues, experience of working without direct supervision.
  • Essential knowledge and skills: Demonstrates good understanding of principles of consent and ensures valid consent is obtained prior to undertaking nursing and care procedures, demonstrates good understanding of the Mental Capacity Act / Deprivation of Liberties and applies principles to everyday practice seeking advice / guidance as required, ability to prioritize work and work in a time-managed and effective way to meet patients' appointments and demands of the role, comprehensive clinical skills, ability to manage a caseload of patients, basic ability to use Microsoft packages - Word, Excel - and databases, able to support clients, carers and family during times of emotional distress.
