Job Summary
The Account Manager plays a pivotal role in driving sales turnover and market share for Clinique by maintaining a consumer-focused approach. Key responsibilities include:
- Representing the Clinique brand in a credible and professional manner to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maximising sales through effective selling, service, and retail standards.
- Contributing to operational efficiencies by adhering to store, brand, and company procedures.
Sales and Service
The Account Manager is responsible for:
- Understanding daily and weekly targets.
- Identifying additional sales avenues, including events, omnichannel, and digital channels.
- Staying informed about competitor activities and missed opportunities.
- Effectively leveraging social media to drive business, protect, and enhance the Clinique brand image.
- Delivering the brand strategy, ensuring the execution of a local plan.
- Planning and implementing local marketing and events initiatives aligned with retailer activity.
- Delivering exceptional service by implementing measures to continually improve service levels, creating a zero-complaint culture.
- Representing the Clinique brand as an ambassador, leading the way to ensure brand values are represented and brought to life.
- Managing refunds and complaints in line with company guidelines, informing the Area Manager when necessary.
- Utilising digital tools to maintain up-to-date knowledge.
- Developing a consumer recruitment and retention strategy to grow a loyal consumer base.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of products to deliver an industry-leading experience and meet consumer needs.
Operations
The Account Manager is responsible for:
- Ensuring excellent standards are maintained at all times (product, housekeeping, displays, messaging, pricing).
- Reviewing retail standards daily to ensure they meet the required standard.
- Completing deliveries, stock movements, and associated administration within agreed company timeframes.
- Ensuring auditable processes and administration are actioned in line with company guidelines and taking corrective action in highlighted areas of risk.
- Providing accurate and timely information requests.
- Minimising stock loss by implementing company security policies and procedures correctly.
- Creating and maintaining a safe working environment for consumers, adhering to company and retailer policies and procedures.
- Ensuring health and safety responsibilities and operational activities achieve a minimum overall grading of 'Acceptable' during audits.
Commerciality
The Account Manager is responsible for:
- Managing daily replenishment, taking appropriate action when necessary.
- Maximising sales performance by utilising commercial reports before making decisions.
- Planning and delivering visual merchandising layouts, ensuring they meet guidelines and are completed within agreed timescales.
- Identifying stock package issues and taking corrective action, informing the Area Manager when necessary.
- Effectively managing promotions and discounts, ensuring they are actioned in line with company guidelines.
- Identifying trends and suggesting enhancements to product performance.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in a fast-paced retail and/or consumer-facing environment.
- The ability to drive self-development.
- Commercial understanding and awareness of the industry.
- Effective communication, organisation, and prioritisation skills.
