Facility Description
Our facility offers a comprehensive range of mental health services, including acute care, psychiatric intensive care, secure units, recovery, and rehabilitation. We cater to a diverse patient population, addressing various mental health challenges and personality disorders.
Our multidisciplinary team (MDT) model includes occupational therapists, psychologists, and experienced registered mental health nurses, all dedicated to providing high-quality clinical care. We emphasize patient collaboration and the least restrictive practices, ensuring that individuals are actively involved in their treatment decisions.

Role Responsibilities
Main Objectives
We are seeking a qualified Senior Adult Psychiatric Consultant to join our acute care team. The successful candidate will work alongside dedicated nursing, occupational therapy, and psychology professionals to deliver exceptional clinical care. Our approach is centered on holistic, person-focused treatment plans that align with recovery principles.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assume clinical responsibility for patients, conducting multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk assessments, and strategic reviews to foster a therapeutic environment.
2. Serve as the Responsible Clinician for patients under the Mental Health Act.
3. Oversee the referral and admission processes, collaborating with team members during pre-admission assessments.
4. Provide psychiatric insights to the multidisciplinary team regarding the assessment, formulation, and treatment of patients.
5. Participate in management and clinical governance meetings, contributing to service strategy development.
6. Engage in in-house training initiatives and offer supervision to junior medical staff and other team members.
7. Maintain continuing professional development (CPD) and re-validation in accordance with the Royal College of Psychiatrists or relevant regulatory bodies.
Innovation and Quality
8. Collaborate with the Lead Consultant and Clinical Service Manager to enhance and evaluate service delivery.
9. Ensure that the service maintains high standards of care, aligning with the overall objectives of the facility.
Candidates trained in the UK should possess evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within six months of confirmed entry for specialist registration (CESR).
