Financial Accountant Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing and controlling all aspects of our financial management, ensuring that best accounting practices are followed and data integrity is consistently maintained.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Financial Management: Assist with the management of our bank accounts, maintain bank security protocols, and ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and transfer funds to meet outgoing requirements, ensuring that our financial obligations are met in a timely manner.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist with processes for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, anticipating and highlighting upcoming issues to ensure that our financial performance is optimized.
  • Investment Portfolio Reconciliation: Reconcile our investment portfolio quarterly to ensure that all investments are accurately valued and reported.
  • Internal Financial Processes: Ensure that all internal financial processes are controlled, with required documentation and authorizations in place to maintain financial integrity.
  • Funding Streams and Compliance: Ensure that all funding streams are correctly allocated and that donor requirements are met, with accurate accounting for incoming payments and management of the calendar.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Analyze and report on metrics and performance measures for our organization, providing insights to inform business decisions.
  • Support to Management Accountant: Support the Management Accountant in producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts, working together to ensure that our financial performance is accurately reflected.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Part AAT qualified or part ACCA/CIMA qualified or qualified by experience.
  • Skills: High level of computer and numerical literacy, including packages such as Excel and Word, with strong knowledge of management reporting and standard accounting processes.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate complex information clearly.
