Job Title: Warehouse Operative

British Sugar PLC is a leading manufacturer of sugar products, and we are seeking a skilled Warehouse Operative to join our production team.

Job Purpose:

To ensure the safe and efficient operation of our warehouse and packing lines, maintaining high-quality standards and meeting customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a busy warehouse forklift truck, conducting start-up and end-of-shift checks.
  • Load and unload tautliner lorries, inspect trailers, and complete paperwork.
  • Accurately record dispatches and operational data.
  • Manage the warehouse management system to ensure accurate goods in and out.
  • Comply with site and business operational, health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Carry out basic fault finding and problem-solving, working with shift engineers to resolve issues.
  • Ensure production and despatch plans are met to service customer requirements.
Requirements:
  • Experience working in a FMCG environment, preferably in the food industry.
  • Knowledge of food packaging machinery and HACCP practices.
  • Good communication skills and ability to accurately record information.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • BASIC Food Hygiene certification.
  • IOSH Working Safely certification.
  • Manual Handling Training.
  • Current counterbalance FLT licence.
