Flowserve is seeking a skilled Precision Assembler to join our team in Widnes. As a key member of our maintenance contract team, you will be responsible for preparing assembly work and documentation, assembling equipment and tools, and performing test requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly and Inspection: Complete assemblies according to drawings, instructions, and work orders, performing testing when required.

  • Cleanliness and Organization: Ensure all parts and components are clean prior to assembly and that assemblies are completed properly, following all assembly procedures.
  • Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety procedures, and wear required personal safety equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve issues within assembly.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in CIP activities as needed and comply with all Flowserve policies and procedures.
  • Customer Service: Show a customer-service mindset for on-time delivery and quality workmanship.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Demonstrate behavior that promotes team building and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Workshop Experience: Workshop experience is essential for this role.
  • Automation and Electrical Knowledge: Knowledge of automation control and electrical components is required.
  • Mechanical Experience: Experience as a mechanic for rotating machines, mechanical devices, or as a general mechanic is necessary.
  • Education and Certifications: General certificate of education or vocational training is required. HS Diploma / GED and 5-7 years relevant experience is preferred.
  • Attention to Detail: Have a sharp eye for detail and a results-oriented approach.
  • Mathematical Skills: Capable of calculating basic mathematical functions including computation of rate, ratio, and percent and to convert one type of measurement into another.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and technical drawings safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and communicate clearly to peers, supervisors, and customers.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer aptitude to use/learn data entry systems and to use Microsoft Office Package.
  • Availability and Physical Demands: Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as required on short notice. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and safely lift up to 50 lbs.
