Associate Director of Research

Human Rights Watch is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director of Research to lead our research training and standards program. The successful candidate will have a strong background in human rights research methodologies, instructional design, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a comprehensive research training program for HRW staff, including online and in-person training sessions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that HRW's research guidelines are up-to-date and relevant.
- Design and deliver training on core human rights research and advocacy skills, as well as training related to new topics, methods, and tools.
- Work closely with the Program Director and other departments to ensure that HRW's research staff are equipped to conduct strategic and effective investigations.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent level of work experience in human rights, social science, or a related field.
- A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in human rights training, including research methodologies and other applied skills, training design and instruction.
- Experience with designing and conducting online and hybrid trainings is advantageous.
