About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Islington Learning Disability Partnership. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will play a vital role in providing psychological assessments and interventions for adults with learning disabilities.

The successful candidate will work within our multidisciplinary team, consisting of psychiatry, psychology, nursing, occupational therapy, speech & language therapy, and physiotherapy. You will be responsible for carrying out autism assessments, working on Behaviours of Concern, Mental Health, and Dementia pathways, and providing psychological advice and guidance to other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide psychological assessments for individuals referred to the Psychological Therapies team using appropriate methods, including interviews, observations, and formal assessment measures.
  2. Formulate and provide psychological interventions for service-users, their families, and care networks referred to the Psychological Therapies team.
  3. Provide psychological advice, guidance, and consultation to others and assist in the formulation, diagnosis, and treatment of service-users with complex health needs and/or high-risk presentations.
  4. Liaise with other health and social care staff from a range of agencies in the care provided to people with GLD.
Person Specification

We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist with a post-graduate doctoral level qualification in clinical or counselling psychology, as accredited by the British Psychological Society. You should be currently registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a clinical psychologist or a counselling psychologist.

Desirable qualifications include completion of pre- or post-doctoral post-qualification specialist training in areas of practice relevant to the post.
