About the Role

TXM Recruit is seeking a highly skilled Aluminum Manufacturing Engineer to join our client's production team in Northampton. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for implementing production processes and procedures, leading productivity improvements, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement production processes and procedures to optimize manufacturing efficiency
  • Lead productivity improvements through project-based activities, including new product introduction and manufacturing cell design
  • Design and implement fixtures and tooling to ensure repeatable processes
  • Assist with shop floor layout and cell designs to improve workflow and productivity
  • Generate production documentation, including PFMEA, CP, and process instructions
  • Introduce and monitor SPC at key points of the process to ensure quality standards are met

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in aluminum brazing techniques (CAB and Vacuum) and materials
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and lean tools and techniques
  • Proven experience in problem-solving and data presentation
  • Knowledge of business metrics, including OEE, COPQ, DLE, TAKT, and Cycle Times
  • Strong team working ethic and ability to work under pressure

Desirable Qualifications

  • Metallurgy or metallurgical experience
  • Capital expenditure forming
  • 6 Sigma training
  • Proven project management skills

Education and Qualifications

  • Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree or equivalent qualification
  • Experience of FMEA, Kaizen/A3, and Poka Yoke techniques
  • Understanding of design and production cost, including waste, downtime, scrap, and rework
