Locomotive Engineer

To manage and oversee the implementation of rolling stock test fleets into passenger service, providing technical leadership and project management support to ensure smooth operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and mitigating risks associated with rolling stock test fleets
• Providing technical leadership and project management support to ensure successful implementation
• Deputizing for the Senior Fleet Manager as required
• Establishing and implementing an internal reporting system for test fleet performance

Substantial experience in modern rolling stock engineering, technical knowledge of 25 kV fleets, modern signalling systems, diagnostics, and prognostics is essential. Strong working knowledge of routine maintenance railway depot operations, stabling sites, train preparation, remote repair, modification programs, and maintenance practices is also required.

A strong understanding of safety regimes within the railway industry and national rail operators' safety management systems is necessary.
