Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client, a leading provider of innovative mechanical solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their engineering team in Fareham. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing detailed 3D models and engineering drawings for mechanical components and assemblies, conducting simulations and analyses to ensure designs meet stringent performance and safety requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize designs for cost-effectiveness and manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software.
- Conduct simulations and analyses to ensure designs meet performance and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams to optimize designs for cost-effectiveness and manufacturability.
- Assist in the prototyping and testing of mechanical systems, analyzing results, and refining designs based on findings.
- Provide technical support during the production phase, addressing any design-related issues that arise.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally within a manufacturing or product development environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems.
