Job Title: Senior Payroll Administrator

James Gray Associates is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our payroll services department, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Processing: Execute accurate and timely end-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients, including tasks such as handling new hires and terminations.
  • Auto-Enrolment: Manage the auto-enrolment process for pensions, handling both opt-ins and opt-outs across various pension schemes.
  • Client Communication: Communicate with clients to collect necessary data for payroll preparation.
  • Turnaround Times: Ensure all payrolls are processed within the specified turnaround times.
  • Payroll Queries: Address and resolve payroll queries from clients.
  • Database Management: Ensure all starters, leavers, benefits and allowances information is entered on to the Payroll database and update the relevant spreadsheet to record all entries made.
  • Compliance: Recognize the importance of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and adhere to responsibilities within the Payroll Services Department.
  • Legislative Knowledge: Remain up to date with UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements, ensuring all processes adhere to the relevant regulations.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Previous experience of working in a similar role.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of UK payroll and pension legislation.
  • Work Ethic: A strong work ethic and willingness to assist other members of the team when required.
  • Task Ownership: Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and ensure high-quality completion.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
  • Legislative Awareness: Have a knowledge of changes to legislation which effect payroll.
  • Client Interaction: Confident and competent in dealing with clients.
  • Technical Skills: Have a working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Time Management: Good time keeping/punctuality.
