Job Description

Meadow View JMI School is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for learning activities under an agreed system of supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities for individuals, groups, or whole classes, including monitoring pupils and assessing, recording, and reporting on pupils' achievement, progress, and development.
  • Support the SENDCO in monitoring IEPs, completing external agency paperwork, liaising with external agencies, preparing annual review paperwork, and supporting with annual review meetings.
  • Assess the needs of pupils and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support pupils' learning.
  • Organize and manage appropriate learning environments and resources.
  • Support pupils working at all levels and promote inclusion within the classroom.
  • Be committed to raising attainment, achievement, and progress, ensuring all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
  • Work within a team to provide high-quality services for pupils and families.
Requirements
  • Meet Professional Standards for HLTA status or have equivalent qualification (NVQ Level 4).
  • Have excellent numeracy and literacy skills, equivalent to level 2 in English and Maths.
