Design and Technical Manager Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Design and Technical Manager to oversee the design and build process for a significant project. This key role ensures that the project delivers on its strategic outcomes while complying with all legislative, regulatory, and health and safety obligations.

The successful candidate will provide essential technical input in areas such as design, feasibility, value engineering, sustainability, and energy strategy. You will work closely with internal teams and external subcontractors, managing the production and review of design information throughout both the pre-construction and construction phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and management of the design and pre-construction programme
  • Ensure design feasibility and oversee value engineering exercises
  • Plan surveys and integrate sustainability and energy strategies into the project
  • Commission pre-construction reports, such as Arboriculture, Archaeological, Acoustic, and Ecological assessments
  • Organise and chair regular Design Team Meetings (DTM) and Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Client Design meetings
  • Ensure all design and contractual standards are adhered to

Requirements:

  • Strong background in managing complex construction projects
  • Expertise in design, feasibility, and sustainability strategies
  • Experience in ensuring regulatory compliance and managing technical certifications
  • Strong project management skills and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
