The School

A primary school with a specialist SEMH inclusion unit, catering to students with or awaiting an EHCP. The curriculum is tailored to each pupil, focusing on social skills and self-regulation.

The Role

This is a temp-to-perm position as the lead teacher of the resource base. Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality lessons targeting students' SEMH needs
  • Effectively deploying a small team of SEND teaching assistants
  • Supporting their professional development
Main Responsibilities
  • Planning, delivering, and evaluating lessons
  • Adapting teaching to meet students' needs
  • Liaising with SENDCo, Senior Leadership Team, and external professionals
  • Preparing learning resources
  • Supporting SEND teaching assistants
  • Writing progress reports for individual pupils
  • Regularly providing feedback to parents and carers
Essential Criteria
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
Desirable Criteria
  • Additional SEND qualifications
  • Prior experience in a specialist provision
