Job Title: Experienced Child Welfare Specialist

At Semester, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Advanced Practitioner to join our team in Barnsley. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Social Work and experience working with children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection planning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide social work services to adults and families with specific responsibilities for dealing with more complex cases, including assessment and appropriate management of risks.
  • Develop and share specialist knowledge with others in a particular area of practice, and contribute to practice development.
  • Manage safeguarding cases in-line with 'Making Safeguarding Personal' and deputise for the Team Manager as required.
  • Support senior colleagues with the prioritisation, allocation, planning and review of work in accordance with policies, procedures and statutory requirements.
  • Contribute to service monitoring and evaluation, undertaking needs analysis, reviewing availability of resources and development of service practice, policies and strategies to maintain high quality services.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection planning.
  • Experience working within the Public Law Outline and Court proceedings.
  • Ability to manage complex cases, including planning and review.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
