In the UK, KP Snacks employs approximately 2,300 team members across seven manufacturing sites and its headquarters. The company is known for producing beloved snack brands such as Hula Hoops, McCoy's, Pombear, KP Nuts, Butterkist popcorn, Tyrrells, and Popchips.
The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Flavor Evaluation Specialist to join our Product Development team at KP Snacks. In this role, you will be instrumental in assessing the taste, texture, and overall quality of our snack products to ensure they align with our exceptional standards.
- Engage in sensory evaluation sessions to provide insights on both new and existing products.
- Utilize your sensory skills to discern flavor profiles, textures, and product characteristics.
- Collaborate closely with our product development team to contribute to the creation of innovative and delightful snack options.
- Participate in sensory training to enhance your understanding of sensory terminology and testing methodologies.
- Conduct product testing across various snack and food items, evaluating their appearance, aroma, flavor, mouthfeel, and aftertaste.
- Actively engage in descriptive panel discussions to articulate product attributes and definitions.
- Accurately input your product scoring data using specialized sensory software.
- Follow guidelines for sample evaluation and questionnaire completion as directed by the panel leader.
- Participate in training related to products and sensory evaluation, applying this knowledge to your panel work.
- Demonstrate a genuine passion for food and an appreciation for sensory perceptions while thriving in a collaborative and open environment.
