Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with a work schedule from Monday to Friday. You will be expected to commence work at 6:30 AM and conclude at 4:00 PM on two designated days each week.

Your annual compensation can reach up to £43,900, contingent upon your experience.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications & Experience

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with GPhC
  • Management and leadership experience (preferred)
  • Experience in procurement and auditing (preferred)

Job Responsibilities

As a Lead Pharmacy Operations Manager, you will contribute to the provision and delivery of a comprehensive, safe, and legally compliant pharmaceutical service within the designated site, adhering to national policies and local standard operating procedures while maintaining a high level of security.

You will be an essential member of the Pharmacy Team, part of the broader Healthcare Services cluster. You will utilize PPG policies and procedures, along with statutory frameworks governing patient care in secure settings, to deliver the highest standard of care in accordance with national guidelines. You may also take on additional responsibilities related to the operational management of your unit, ensuring you are adequately trained and competent for these tasks.

Key Duties Include:

  • Providing induction, training, supervision, and performance evaluations for pharmacy operational staff and those involved in medication administration.
  • Conducting one-on-one supervision sessions with pharmacy staff.
  • Planning, organizing, and delivering all pharmacy operational services, ensuring a high-quality pharmacy service.
  • Providing the Healthcare Team with essential information regarding pharmaceutical products, medicines management, and general health education.
  • Meeting agreed key performance targets based on personal performance plans.
  • Inspiring and leading the pharmacy support team in daily service provision.
  • Collaborating with the Pharmacist to ensure professional representation of the service.
  • Promoting a safe service and working closely with all Healthcare Team members to meet patient needs.
  • Encouraging cost-effective medicines management to reduce waste while improving service access.
  • Partnering with the lead pharmacist to establish strategic objectives, service improvement plans, and innovations.
  • Addressing any concerns affecting service delivery or patient care appropriately.
