Role Summary: The Faith and Public Life Department oversees the Church of England's engagement with public policy, ethical considerations, and political discourse. As the Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the Church's vision and strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maximize the Church's unique role in providing a distinct Christian perspective on public policy and ethics.
  • Foster and maintain constructive relationships with other faith communities and churches, both locally and internationally.
  • Ensure that the team's initiatives align with the Church's mission while providing strategic leadership to a diverse and skilled team.
  • Collaborate closely with the Archbishops' Council, relevant committees, and other departments within the National Church Institutions.

Qualifications: While expertise in every aspect of the Department's work is not required, a solid understanding of public and political theology, as well as civil society, will be beneficial. You will have the opportunity to lead specific projects where your experience is most relevant.

Essential Skills:

  • Advanced professional skills in areas such as public ethics, government relations, and stakeholder communications.
  • The ability to apply theological insights to public affairs effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience in building relationships and collaborating with leaders across various sectors.
  • A clear understanding of current trends and discussions in public affairs and interfaith relations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Church of England, its doctrines, and its diverse traditions.
  • Experience in leading teams and fostering high-performance cultures in complex environments.
