Job Summary

Serco Plc is seeking a skilled HGV Refuse and Recycling Driver/Operator to join our team of essential workers in the Environmental Services department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for collecting waste and recycling from residential homes and commercial properties in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a HGV vehicle to collect waste and recycling from designated areas
  • Conduct pre-trip vehicle safety checks to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition
  • Work collaboratively with Refuse Loaders to ensure efficient collection and disposal of waste and recycling
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents and businesses in the community
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to improve skills and knowledge

Requirements

  • Valid Class 2 driving licence and Driver CPC
  • Strong customer service skills and physical fitness
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous experience in refuse collection and street cleansing is desired but not essential
