Assistant Librarian Academic Engagement

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Librarian to join our team at the University of Brighton. As an Assistant Librarian, you will play a key role in supporting the management of information resources, developing and delivering training for students and staff, and contributing to the development and use of technologies in information delivery and communication.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain information resources, including print and digital collections, to support the academic needs of students and staff.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for students and staff to support university teaching and research activities.
  • Contribute to the development and use of technologies in information delivery and communication, including the design and implementation of digital resources and services.
  • Provide excellent customer service and IT skills, including MS Office, to support the needs of students and staff.
  • Ability to communicate complex or difficult information using methods appropriate to the situation.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work to achieve objectives on time.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable understanding of print and digital resources and technologies relevant to the post.
  • Excellent customer service and IT skills, including MS Office.

Working Pattern:

The successful candidate will work on a part-time basis (18.5 hours per week) with regular evening and weekend work. You may also be required to work at other University of Brighton Libraries on occasion.
