About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at an SEN school in Erith. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in providing individualized support to students with autism and moderate to severe learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with autism and moderate to severe learning difficulties.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored educational programs that meet each student's individual needs.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Help students with personal care, mobility, and communication as required.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Collaborate with the SEN team to develop strategies that promote students' social, emotional, and educational development.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, particularly autism and learning difficulties.
  • A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A willingness to assist with personal care tasks when needed.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential.
