Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to join our team in the North West. As a key member of our Project Controls team, you will lead a multi-functional team, working collaboratively with clients and stakeholders to provide realistic baselines, embed effective controls, and drive delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement robust breakdown structures, integrating data from controls functions.
  • Coordinate estimating sessions to reach agreed cost baselines, focusing on value for money and budget realism.
  • Lead planning sessions and workshops to compile master project/programme schedules, ensuring achievable durations.
  • Manage risk assessments, qualitative and quantitative, to support cost and schedule predictability.
  • Stakeholder management, ensuring key stakeholders sign off baselines and receive regular progress updates.
  • Embed robust update processes, managing schedule, interfaces, cost, risk, and changes effectively.
  • Guide and influence principal contractors and clients to drive delivery and achieve schedule and cash flow KPIs.
  • Control costs, applying knowledge of conceptual estimating, funding stage gates, and procurement principles.
  • Lead change management processes, providing platforms for adding, tracking, monitoring, and approving changes.
  • Identify trends and root causes of deviations, reporting remedial actions to drive best value for clients.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in delivering controls in major project/programme environments.
  • Experience working in Hi-Tech & Manufacturing specialist sectors.
  • Experience managing multi-functional controls teams.
  • Proficiency in controls/software applications, such as Primavera (P6), Power BI, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up work processes.
  • Experience leading collaborative workshops.
  • Strong time management skills, quick thinking, and ability to meet project deadlines.
  • Highly motivated, driven, and passionate about delivering to clients.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible with regards to travel, with a willingness to work remotely and visit client sites as required.
