We are seeking a seasoned Project Coordinator to join our team. This newly created position is vital to our growth trajectory and the increasing complexity of our projects. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a key role in planning, monitoring, and delivering high-value machinery projects and extensive automation systems.

As part of a collaborative team, you will primarily work in-house while also traveling to client locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee significant projects (valued at £500K and above), typically managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Develop project timelines based on initial quotes and coordinate with various departments to ensure timely execution, identifying potential risks.
  • Manage project budgets effectively.
  • Track, assess, and enhance project performance metrics.
  • Maintain oversight of a diverse project portfolio, providing updates and engaging with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials and components, adhering to 'Just in Time' principles.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings to ensure smooth transitions between project phases.
  • Manage resources efficiently to prevent bottlenecks across projects.
  • Document lessons learned and implement relevant actions for continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide project updates to sponsors, ensuring they are informed of progress and risks.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, managing access to engineering teams.
  • Handle project deviations and manage change control processes.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably in an engineering context.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, such as Microsoft Project.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated experience in budget oversight.
  • Ability to set, track, and report on key performance indicators.
  • Experience in resource management.
  • Strong negotiation and procurement skills.
  • Familiarity with SAP is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Just in Time (JIT) principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills.
