Job Summary

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Retail Assistant at our Exeter Sidwell Street shop. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the shop manager in running the day-to-day operations of the store.

About the Role

As a Retail Assistant, you will be responsible for serving customers, sorting and displaying stock, handling cash and following health and safety procedures. You will also have the opportunity to plan, prioritize and delegate the workload of our volunteers, ensuring they are supported and motivated to achieve their best.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serving customers and providing excellent customer service
  • Sorting and displaying stock to ensure a visually appealing store
  • Handling cash and operating the till system
  • Following health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Planning, prioritizing and delegating the workload of volunteers

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be organized and able to manage time effectively. You will also need to have experience of working in retail or a customer service position, and be able to work as part of a team and use your own initiative.

Training and Development

We are committed to providing our staff with the training and development they need to succeed in their roles. As a Retail Assistant, you will receive full on-the-job training, including opening and closing of the shop, use of the till and CHSW systems, and stock display.
