Inpatient Consultant Psychiatrist

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant Psychiatrist to join our inpatient multidisciplinary team on Ruby ward, a 17-bedded female acute ward in Aylesbury.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with severe mental illness and complex emotional needs, working collaboratively with our team managers and contributing to the leadership and clinical expertise of our multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with severe mental illness and complex emotional needs.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote recovery and well-being.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures that promote best practice and improve patient outcomes.
- Participate in clinical governance activities, including audit and quality improvement initiatives, to ensure high-quality care and patient safety.
- Supervise and support junior medical staff, including core psychiatric trainees, to ensure their development and well-being.
- Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, or equivalent qualification.
- Approved Clinician (AC) status and Section 12 (MHA) approval.
- Higher specialist training in psychiatry, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in the specialty, with a strong commitment to evidence-based practice.
- Leadership and management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with senior colleagues and other professionals.
