We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join our Civil and Structural Engineering Team at Torbay Council. This is an exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to contribute to the development and implementation of innovative engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in structural engineering practice and design standards for a broad range of buildings and structures.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including project managers and architects.
  • Manage, monitor, and review performance to meet targets and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and statutory obligations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in structural and civil engineering design, survey, and contract preparation.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory obligations in relation to building regulations and design code of practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
