About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team at Reed Talent Solutions. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing DevOps solutions across our suite of applications, primarily hosted on Azure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation of consistent and reliable deployment processes across multiple products and platforms.
  • Own Azure DevOps architectures and designs.
  • Collaborate with project and delivery managers to plan work at scale and ensure smooth deployments through the CI/CD pipelines.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to advise on optimal technologies.
  • Advocate for DevOps within the organization, working alongside the Head of Software Engineering and the Principal Developer to incorporate the best DevOps methodologies into development teams.
  • Stay updated with the latest technology, services, and methodologies in DevOps and beyond, bringing them into our organisation.
  • Support the rollout of DevSecOps within existing DevOps teams.
  • Manage and maintain resources deployed to Microsoft Azure.
Requirements
  • Background in DevOps Engineering or a similar role.
  • Cloud experience in Azure.
  • Ability to work with a variety of applications using different technologies.
  • Proven experience of each of the following essential criteria:
    • Working knowledge of CI/CD using Azure DevOps pipelines, including YAML pipelines and automated deployments.
    • Experience with Azure PaaS and IaaS.
    • Experience working with Docker, containers, and managing/troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters.
    • Experience with Helm, Helm charts, releases, and repositories.
    • Knowledge of Azure Networking, Network Security Groups, Private Endpoints, and Application Gateway/WAF.
    • Proficiency with Azure operational and monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
    • Understanding of Azure AD and access management.
    • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, or ARM templates.

Clearance Requirements

The post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance. To be vetted we will usually expect a reasonable period of residency in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken. For this role this will need to be 5 years.
