About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Civil & Structural Designer to join our team at Bilfinger UK. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality design deliverables for various projects across different sectors, including Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, and Food.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Project Design Lead/Lead Civil and Structural Engineer in producing Civil and Structural (C&S) design deliverables within single-discipline, multi-discipline engineering, EPCM, or EPC projects.
- Carry out design activities using your initiative to agreed timescales and budget.
- Participate in internal and external design reviews, supporting the Project Design Lead & Lead Civil and Structural Engineer.
- Interpret general arrangement drawings, scopes of work, and develop them into Engineering designs.
- Identify changes to the design scope and report them to the Project Design Lead & Lead Civil and Structural Engineer, providing support to the management of the change process.
- Drive quality in all Engineering designs, including checking discipline design deliverables to company procedures.
Requirements:
- More than 5 years of experience as a C&S designer in single-discipline and multi-discipline projects, in an Engineering/EPCM/EPC company, in one of the above-mentioned sectors.
- Deep knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Advance Steel, or similar, and capable of carrying designs using the software without supervision.
- Sound knowledge of C&S engineering and design, while also having a sound knowledge of other disciplines (EC&I, Mechanical, Piping, and Process).
- HNC/HND in Civil/Structural Engineering (Preferred).
- Incorporated Engineer (Preferred).
- Produce and develop design deliverables, including 3D models, GA drawings, steel detailing, reinforced concrete detailing, and relevant schedules.
- Experience with temporary works designs (Preferred).
- Ability to assist in the delivery of site surveys of existing assets, including the production of site survey reports.
- Experienced with laser scanning and the production of detailed models from the scans (Preferred).
- Result-oriented, with a 'one time right' mentality.
- Ability to liaise and work closely with the project team to ensure correct deliverables.
- Sound understanding of current British/European Standards, as well as Eurocodes and EN1090, etc.
