About the Role

At Prospero Teaching, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced tutor to work with schools, Local Authorities, and Virtual Schooling Teams in Oldham and across Greater Manchester.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with young people who struggle with their mental health, and possess a certificate in education or above.

We offer flexibility to suit your needs, with tuition taking place within school hours or early evening, online or in person. We will work with stakeholders to find the perfect environment for you and the young person.

The successful candidate will be organized, punctual, and reliable, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently when tutoring off-site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality tutoring services to students with SEMH and SEN needs
  • Work collaboratively with schools, Local Authorities, and Virtual Schooling Teams to meet the needs of students
  • Develop and implement effective tutoring plans to support student progress
  • Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders
Requirements
  • QTS or equivalent
  • Tutoring experience, particularly with SEMH and SEN students
  • Patient, empathetic, and creative approach to tutoring
  • Valid Right to Work
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service, or the ability to complete one
  • Minimum of two references to cover the last two years of employment
