Parklane Plowden Chambers, a leading Barrister Chambers in Leeds and Newcastle, is seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Assistant Practice Finance Manager. This position involves managing, coordinating, and supporting the Family Finance and Chancery and Commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage business development, marketing, and practice administration services.
- Provide support to the Senior Practice Director and their team to ensure operational standards and high-quality service levels are consistently achieved.
- Address areas of concern with regard to performance and standards, and implement actions to remedy them.
- Work collaboratively with other Assistant/Practice Directors to share best practices and assist with overall resource management.
- Ensure company policies are adhered to, and staff development meetings and wellbeing matters are rigorously addressed.
- Engage in active business development to build a strong network within the service lines, encouraging business growth and profitable relationships.
- Support team development through regular team meetings, feedback, and updates on performance, risks, and opportunities.
- 8+ years' experience working within the legal sector in a clerking, administrative, or secretarial role.
- Comprehensive understanding of compliance and regulatory aspects relevant to working in a Barristers Chambers.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Organisational and planning ability to handle several cases concurrently.
- Computer literacy, particularly an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to delegate effectively while keeping a good handle on progress and quality.
