Job Summary:

ASC Connections Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior CNC Machinist to join their team. As a key member of the manufacturing department, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the CNC machine shop, ensuring maximum production levels across all machinery, and managing a team of multi-skilled CNC machinists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operation of the CNC machine shop, ensuring all machinery is running at optimal levels.
  • Review and allocate works orders based on machine and manpower availability.
  • Select and check tools, materials, and jig/fixtures to ensure efficient production.
  • Inspect all parts for tolerance and conformance to customer drawings.
  • Ensure the department achieves set KPIs for efficiency and cost control.
  • Implement and maintain a safe working environment, conducting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Support, mentor, and manage a team of up to 15 staff members.
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the department, identifying opportunities to reduce cycle times, tool, and tip life.

Requirements:

  • Previous leadership experience in a CNC machine shop, managing production and a team of machinists.
  • Strong bias towards multi-axis milling, with the ability to write programs in FANUC, Siemens, or Mazatrol.
  • Effective staff management skills to ensure the team is motivated and performing well.
  • Demonstrable experience with health and safety, compliance, and best practice.
