About the Role

FCC Environment is seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team. As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring our operations comply with environmental regulations and laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support site and area/regional management to ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies
  • Provide technical support to management in resolving non-compliances
  • Report and escalate any breaches and assist in developing and implementing remedial strategies
  • Provide expert advice and support on all aspects of environmental and waste legislation, collection, management, treatment, processing, transportation, and disposal
  • Support sites in the completion of any reporting required
  • Attend area operations meetings to present monthly summary slides on environmental matters
  • Provide a monthly summary on environmental matters to the Environment Manager
  • Support sites in reporting environmental events on the incident reporting system
  • Develop, update, and deliver Environmental Training courses
  • Fulfil the role of expert assessor for Environmental Units of the Competence Management System (CMS)
  • Assist site managers with Environmental and Energy requirements of the Integrated Management System (IMS)
  • Support and attend sites for any external audits
  • Develop, review, and complete Legal Compliance Audits
  • Review new Environmental legislation and guidance in line with SHEQ requirements to determine the potential impact on the business
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role
