Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within the Physiotherapy Department, working alongside therapy colleagues and the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to meet the needs of individuals requiring physiotherapy assessment and treatment, ensuring a high standard of care.
  • Conduct advanced physiotherapy assessments for patients with diverse and complex presentations, utilizing advanced clinical reasoning and manual assessment techniques to deliver accurate diagnoses and tailored treatment plans.
  • Provide exemplary physiotherapy care while managing all clinical responsibilities as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Oversee a personal caseload, determining the frequency of treatment sessions, and share responsibility for a designated service area, working independently while prioritizing workload based on patient needs.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development, including participation in recent postgraduate courses relevant to musculoskeletal practice

Essential Experience

  • Completion of a comprehensive range of band 5 rotations, including core rotations in respiratory, orthopaedics, trauma, outpatient MSK, and neurology, or current employment as a band 6 in MSK
  • Recent experience as a physiotherapist within the NHS
  • Experience working within a physiotherapy team and multidisciplinary team
  • Familiarity with audit processes, current policies, and outcome measures
  • Demonstrated special interest in MSK and orthopaedic care

Knowledge and Skills

Essential Skills

  • Ability to present information clearly and logically, both in writing and verbally, demonstrating proficient IT skills
  • Capacity to work independently, prioritize and organize personal caseload, and delegate tasks when necessary
  • Understanding of clinical governance and its implications for physiotherapy practice
