About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Manager to join our team at Navigo Health and Social Care CIC. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for providing financial management services to managers and clinicians, and contributing to the financial stewardship of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide an effective and high-quality financial management service to managers and clinicians, ensuring deadlines are met and procedures are up to date.
  • Prepare and review monthly budget reports, and provide complex financial analyses to support decision-making.
  • Investigate queries and advise managers on financial issues, enabling them to plan, monitor, and control services within available resources.
  • Collaborate with budget holders to develop and implement action plans to address variances and improve financial performance.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of the budget monitoring system, using advanced spreadsheet skills and report writing facilities.
  • Perform monthly pay budget variance analysis to identify miscodes and changes, and liaise with HR colleagues as necessary.
  • Support recruitment within budget portfolios by performing checks and confirming vacancies with budget holders.
  • Advise budget holders on the re-profiling of budgets within cost centres, ensuring alignment with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Resolve issues and pressures identified, escalating complex matters to the Senior Management Accountant as necessary.
  • Complete various monthly reconciliations and ensure all procedure notes are up to date within relevant work areas.
  • Regularly review work processes to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
  • Undertake routine accounting tasks, including inputting journals, setting up ledger codes, and running ad-hoc reports.
  • Participate in and provide information for statutory statistical and financial returns as requested by the Senior Management Accountant.
  • Provide training to budget holders on financial management, coding of invoices, and utilising Access Financials dashboard.
  • Assist the Senior Management Accountant in complex and confidential issues, such as costing of restructures and service redesign.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following experience and qualifications:

  • Three years of relevant experience in financial management or accounting.
  • Reporting experience, financial or management accounting.
  • AAT Qualified.

Desirable qualifications and experience include:

  • Multi-agency or organisation working experience.
  • Final Accounts experience.
  • Working on large multi-purpose databases.
  • Payroll monitoring experience.
