Job Summary:
The Occupational Health Specialist Advisor will be responsible for undertaking a comprehensive range of occupational health activities related to the assessment, protection, and promotion of employee health at work. This will include:
- Conducting assessments of employee fitness to work
- Developing and implementing strategies to protect employee health at work
- Providing technical advice and support to employees and management on occupational health matters
- Supporting individuals with disabilities in gaining and sustaining employment
The post holder will work independently and be accountable for their professional actions. Strong working relationships with authorized officers of customers and a sound knowledge of organizational terms and conditions are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a range of occupational health activities, making clinical judgments and providing technical advice and support
- Plan and organize activities or programs for their own area of work
- Work with the Team Leader/Senior Management Team on service changes impacting outside their direct area of activity
- Comply with all CNWL and OHS policies and procedures
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities
Requirements:
- Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health Specialist Practitioners (SCPHN)
- Minimum of two years' practical experience in occupational health
- Strong knowledge of occupational health principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The North West London Occupational Health Shared Service (NWL OH SS) is a team of experienced occupational health professionals providing high-quality services to NHS organizations and small/medium-sized enterprises. The service operates in line with NHS Employers' guidance and SEQOHS standards.
