About the Role:

As a Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting detailed building surveys on rail and commercial buildings, preparing comprehensive reports and recommendations, and assessing the condition of buildings and providing appropriate solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting detailed building surveys on rail and commercial buildings to identify defects and recommend repairs or maintenance.
  2. Preparing comprehensive reports and recommendations for clients, including detailed analysis and cost estimates.
  3. Assessing the condition of buildings and providing appropriate solutions to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  4. Managing and coordinating projects from inception to completion, including collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders for effective project delivery.
  5. Ensuring all work is in compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including building codes and safety protocols.
  6. Providing professional advice on property and construction matters to clients and stakeholders.
  7. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of building regulations and safety standards to ensure best practices are followed.

Requirements:

  1. Experience in building surveying, specifically within the rail and commercial buildings sector.
  2. Chartered status is desirable.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and provide clear recommendations.
  4. Excellent communication and report-writing abilities, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  5. Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, with strong organizational and time management skills.
  6. Understanding of relevant building regulations and safety standards, including building codes and safety protocols.
  7. Proficiency in survey and project management tools, including software and equipment.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
