About the Role:

As a Motor Claims Handler at Burton Recruitment, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of motor claims for insurance companies. This role involves handling claims from inception to closure, negotiating settlements, meeting with clients, brokers, and insurers, and ensuring successful and cost-effective resolutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling a portfolio of motor claims from start to finish, ensuring timely and efficient resolution.
  • Assessing policy indemnity across various policies and underwriters, utilizing industry knowledge and expertise.
  • Conducting thorough investigations into liability, including desk-based research and instructing investigators when necessary.
  • Managing cases through the court process, including instructing solicitors and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with external clients and stakeholders, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Developing a deep understanding of relevant statutes and case law, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong telephone manner and ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office and Excel, with a strong understanding of data analysis and reporting.
  • CII certification is highly desirable, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development and industry expertise.
